For the past couple weeks I’ve been working on a new song called “The Legend of Ms. Garcia”. It got a trial run at a gig in Santa Cruz, CA last night and did pretty well.
The recording for this one will need a hefty dose of strings, so I’ve been spending midnights sitting with my notation scratch pad hashing them out. On playback, with the cheesy general midi sounds I scratchpad with, it occurred to me that it totally sounds like it could be the theme song to a 1980’s Mexican soap opera.
The final version, of course, will sound nothing like this. But I thought you might get a kick out of the kitschiness of this version. 🙂
