Over the weekend I finally made it up to the Disney Family Museum to see the Snow White exhibit called “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs: Creation Of A Classic”. It was the final weekend, so if you haven’t seen it yet, this blog post is the best you’re gonna do. 🙂 It was a…
I’ve talked in the past about the new depths that Hollywood is sinking to on the creative front. And you may think the title of this post is a joke. Unfortunately, it’s not. “The Exorcist” recently finished a run at the Geffen Theater in Los Angeles and is probably headed for the Great White Way….
I want to do a video for my latest single “Geeks Don’t Care” that features pictures of the geek couples I revere in the song. I’m thinking something like the picture to the left. I don’t know those people, but they look fun. In return for use of the picture I’ll be offering back links…
I finally had a chance to watch Henry Phillips’ film “Punching The Clown” yesterday and I highly recommend it. In the film Henry plays himself moving to Los Angeles after years of battling it out on the road for small collections of drunks at various off-the-beaten path venues. LA then smacks him across the back…
Such a fine line between A bomb and THE bomb, isn’t it? I almost called this post “Why John Carter Sucks”, but I don’t know if it does or not. I haven’t seen it. And actually, I’ve heard it’s a pretty good film. So where did Disney go wrong in this, one of their biggest…
I’ll probably be watching the Oscars this weekend. But on at least a 20 minute delay because my girlfriend can’t sit through commercials. Yay DVR. Like every awards show, they often seem a little arbitrary. So today I’m presenting my own awards to movies that should have won something, at some point, somewhere. Eddie and…
I saw a trailer for a new movie recently. It takes place in Atlantic City in the 1920’s. Four wealthy real estate magnates are each trying to undercut the other’s business while raising the cost of living to obscene amounts that force the city’s poor deeper into debt. One of the men drives a big…
Realized I hadn’t posted a new video in a little bit, so this is a clip from one of my DVDs, “Be Yourself…Unless You’re An Idiot”. When you’ve been in a relationship for a long time (over 18 years for me any my girl) you have to work at keeping things spicy and interesting in…
From what I know about pitching a movie to a studio, you should have a concise 2-3 sentence summary of what the movie is about. The dialogue and script can come later. Maybe. When you’re dealing with a world of mash-ups, reboots, and obscene product placement, things like dialogue and character development aren’t always at…
When “Star Wars – The Complete Saga” comes out on Sept 12th, I’m going to have a hard time not plunking down my money for it. You see, I had a VHS bootleg before any of the movies were out. Then I bought the VHS’s. Then I bought the DVDs. Then I bought the remastered…
Over the years I’ve licensed some of my songs for use in movies. And people always ask me which movies? To which I answer, “Terrible ones.” I’ve been a part of films that would make Norbert look like Citizen Kane. Films that make a YouTube cat video look like a Scorcese film. Films that would…
I thought long and hard about weighing in on this one. Mostly because I don’t want to be just another talking-cyber-head yapping away idiotically into the wind of cyberspace. But the potential from idiocy has never deterred me before, so what the heck? There’s no point in me actually reviewing the film. I’m an unabashed…
I just picked up a copy of this film, “Never Been Thawed” because a website mentioned Greg Behrendt was in it. And the plot looked like just the thing I’d like. And I certainly wasn’t disappointed. It was originally released in 2005, so don’t look for it in your local theater anytime soon. But I…
