Books For Children of Gay Parents

I have a bunch of friends that work in libraries and we were talking about some of the new children’s books coming out for kids of gay parents.  Harvey Fierstein wrote “The Sissy Duckling”.  And there’s another out called “One Dad, Two Dads, Brown Dad, Blue Dads”.  A nice sentiment, but if Dad is blue, it may be time for a trip to the hospital.  I don’t think we should be so color blind that we miss asphyxia.

Here’s my suggestions for a few titles that aren’t out there yet:

Tales of a 4th Grade Drag Queen

Where The Wild Boys Are

How The Grinch Stole Pride Day

Goldilocks and the Three Bears – Though when they find her in the house, they’re just really not that interested in eating her.

Are You There Tammy Baldwin?  It’s Me, Margaret.

Horton Hears A Plea For Equality

And finally…. Bi-Curious George

Somebody get to work on these.

Song of the Day: Horizontal Tango (click to stream)
So many women have the fantasy of the exotic, tall, dark, Spanish lover. He’s romantic, always out to satisfy your needs. Well, let’s shatter that little image, shall we? Juan, or Domingo, or Zorro, or whatever the hell his name is, is a dysfunctional pervert like every other guy. He wants to cover you in whipped cream and get a BJ. And sometimes he might come too soon. But he’ll do it all to a Disco beat, baby.
