Almost Ready For Release! – If I Were A Girl

If I Were A Girl video screen cap

A still from the “If I Were A Girl” music video

This song has taken way longer than I wanted it to to get done.  Sorry about that.  I think I remixed it about 10 times and had to learn some new software in the process.  Finally finished the final mix literally 5 minutes before I walked out the door to catch my flight for the current tour I’m on.

How much went into this song?  When I dropped in the final five vocal tracks from my guest collaborator on the song (you’ll find out who soon!) my computer said “I’ve had enough!” and stopped processing the audio.  I totally maxed out what my system is capable of with 45 tracks of music.  But with some finagling (that’s a technical term) I was able to get it all working.

Fortunately, due to the wonders of technology, I can work on the rest of the stuff from my hotel rooms on the road.  Today I’m working on the music video and getting everything set up online to release the song.

That pic is a screen cap from the video.  Let’s just say that when I told the checker at the dollar store that I was buying makeup for a video shoot… Pretty sure she didn’t believe me.

So if all goes well, I should be able to officially release “If I Were A Girl” this coming Monday.  Yay!
